The Ultimate Weight Gaining Program

Posted by admin | 06/11/10 | Tagged Sports Supplements

Whether you want to add weight for sports or just self confidence then you have come to the right place. This article will reveal the best weight gaining program. Follow these 3 steps and you gain muscle mass quickly and safely.

So you want to start adding weight?

Let’s get started

1.    The 1st part of these weight gaining program concerns the food that you intake. Obviously to gain weight you need to absorb more calories than you burn off. This means that you will want to increase the amount of meals that you have per day to at least 6-7. These meals should be made up of roughly 45% carbohydrates, 35% proteins and 20% fats. Also try to have at least 3 of these meals made up of real solid foods. (Don’t just drink protein shakes).

2.    The next vital part of the weight gaining program is to ensure that you are working out your big muscles. If you want to gain weight and muscle then stop focusing on bicep curls and inside perform exercises like the squat and the dead lift. These exercises (unlike bicep and triceps curls) work your major muscles and help create large muscle mass. Moreover these exercises are vital for the large hormone spikes which they cause. Any weight gaining program must incorporate these 2 exercises.

3.    For optimum muscle growth and gain then supplements are very important. They will increase the benefits of your work out and allow you to gain weight and muscle much quicker. Of course you must take care when choosing the right supplements. Only use well known products that have passed the test of time. Such examples would be: protein shakes, powdered creatine, multi vitamins and fish oil capsules.

So that’s the Ultimate Weight Gaining Program. You now have some basic knowledge for gaining weight and muscle.  This is just the tip of the iceberg. If you want to know more information about gaining weight and muscle then visit the website below.

A Healthy Daily Diet For Weight Loss

Posted by admin | 06/11/10 | Tagged Sports Drinks

Zero carbs. Fat flush. No dessert. Sound familiar? Losing weight is hard enough as it is, and all the fad diets that come and go make choosing a natural weight loss program much more confusing. There seems to be no consistent source of information. However, you can make real changes without excessive hunger and discomfort. Simply commit to a healthy diet to live by daily.

First, it’s important to understand the basics for good nutrition. The body’s three primary nutrient needs include protein, fats, and carbohydrates. The trick is choosing the right low-fat proteins, unsaturated fats, and whole-grain carbohydrates in reasonable portions. Even if your goal is not natural weight loss, the basics for good nutrition are essential to a healthy diet:

· Enjoy plenty of low-fat protein with every meal. Protein is key to muscle growth and reduces feelings of hunger. As a result, it gives you plenty of mileage to get to the next meal without having to snack. Chicken and fish are leaner than red meat and tend to be good choices. If you take advantage of organic or local farmer sources, the flavor is superior and there are no injected growth hormones. Don’t forget bean dishes, plus vegetarian chicken, burgers and bacon. Those with high cholesterol can obtain protein from egg whites.

· Treat yourself to five servings of fruits and vegetables every day. This sounds like a lot, but a serving is actually fairly small. Also, the closer a fruit or vegetable is to its natural state, the more nutrients are delivered to the body. All-natural juices are also a great way to get more servings in per day. Fruit satisfies your sweet tooth while reducing sugar cravings. Organic fruits and vegetables are much healthier and you will be completely overwhelmed by the difference in flavor.

· Indulge in whole grain carbohydrates. Don’t completely eliminate carbohydrates! Reduce them, yes, but don’t eradicate them. Trade refined flour carbohydrates for whole grains. Once eaten, carbs are metabolized into blood glucose, which every cell uses as a primary energy source. As a matter of fact, glucose is the brain’s only source of fuel! However, if you eat more carbs than your body needs, it converts the leftover glucose into fat. Enjoy whole-grain wraps, multi-grain crackers, hearty breads and long grain, wild or basmati rice.

· Fulfill yourself with reasonable portions. You should never eat until you’re stuffed–nor should you ever get up from the table hungry. Your stomach can hold about one quart of food and beverage, an amount that would fit in your cupped hands. The trick to fulfillment is to slow down! Savor your food, and chew each bite 30 times. Not only is this the first crucial step in digestion, but it allows your stomach and brain to register when you’re full. Don’t interfere with your body’s ability to enjoy food by watching TV, working, or worse yet, driving. Sit down, relax, and enjoy your meal.

· Drink 8 to 16 glasses of water every day. Maintaining hydration is a key component of overall health. Also, water flushes away fat and transports nutrients throughout your body.

· Treat yourself in moderation. Never eating another potato chip or piece of cake again is completely unrealistic. However, they should not be staples in your diet. Figure out what you can’t live without, and treat yourself to it occasionally.

· Take high-quality vitamin and mineral supplements each day. No matter how healthy a diet, our food will not provide 100 percent of all the vital nutrients that our bodies need daily. Ensuring that you have all the bases covered by taking a multivitamin will go a long way toward a long and healthy life.

Maintaining a healthy diet to live by daily is not difficult when the basics of good nutrition are observed. Protein and fruits and vegetables are the cornerstone, with a few whole-grain carbs thrown in. The ratio of protein should always exceed that of carbs. This will stabilize your blood sugar and eliminate snacking between meals. Although you can jump start weight loss on a low-carb diet, you should enjoy at least one serving of whole-grain carbs every day.

“Healthy” food does not mean bland. The problem with the typical American diet is that it consists of highly refined foods full of synthetic ingredients. Also, portion sizes are out of control. When you start enjoying a healthy diet daily, you will regard highly processed foods as poison, boring and bland. Those who are beginning a natural weight loss program should also cut out the following killers.

· Red meat – If you want to enjoy red meat occasionally, that’s ok. However, avoid the fatty cuts such as rib-eyes and go for a lean filet.

· Burger-and-fry fast food – Fast food is absolutely the worst thing you can eat. The buns alone are nothing but high-fructose corn syrup and partially hydrogenated oil, both of which clog arteries. If you have to eat fast food, opt for fresh sandwiches on whole-grain breads or wraps.

· Refined carbohydrates – Any store-bought white food such as doughnuts, bagels, white bread, snack crackers, and potato chips will make you gain weight faster than almost anything.

· Dairy products – Dairy products tend to be very high in fat. If you can’t live without them, limit them to the low-fat and organic varieties. Considers substitutes such as olive oil or natural yogurt.

· High-fructose corn syrup – If you read a few labels, you’ll be amazed to see how often this is a top ingredient. Corn syrup is engineered to be 80 percent fructose and 20 percent glucose -that’s twice the fructose of regular sugar. Fruit’s natural fiber allows a sustainable absorption rate throughout all cells. Alternatively, high-fructose corn syrup is absorbed rapidly, and it must be metabolized in the liver. This excess causes weight gain.

· Alcohol – Limit yourself to three drinks per week. Your liver puts fat metabolism on hold to process alcohol. Also, alcoholic drinks like margaritas and beer are high in caloric content.

Diet is just one factor in the equation for weight loss. The other key element in a successful weight loss program is daily exercise. You should engage in 30 minutes of aerobic activity every day. Choose something that you enjoy such as walking, bicycling, hiking, swimming, or any team sports. It is easier to keep exercising daily if the activities you choose are fun. After all, exercise is a way of life -just like eating a healthy diet.

Looking great is one perk of regular exercise, but the most powerful benefits are to your health. Aerobic activity strengthens the immune system, is the number one stress buster, reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes, boosts self-confidence, and will even improve your sex life!

These key principles will help you start your successful weight loss program. It’s now up to you – begin a nutritious diet, take a high-quality vitamin and mineral supplement and exercise daily.

What is your New Year’s resolution going to be for next year? Is it to eat healthy and stay in shape? If so than you want to make sure that you are doing it right. Too many people feel that they don’t have the time to eat breakfast every morning because of their  busy schedules.

I am here to tell you that this is the worst thing you could do for yourself. Breakfast is and always will be the most important meal of the day. It is true that lunch and dinner help to provide us with all of the nutrients that we need – but according to research breakfast helps us to establish good eating habits and it can jumpstart our metabolism for the day. The metabolism plays a big role in helping us to lose weight.

Yet, even with these healthy facts and knowing how important it is millions of people will still skip it. A study in 1987 showed that one of every four women that are between the ages of 25 and 34 will skip breakfast on a regular basis. Other studies have shown that when people have good eating habits when they are children they are likely to follow those same patterns when they are adults.

Other studies show that eating breakfast will help to give you extra strength throughout your day and will give you the energy you need to stay alert and focused when at work or school. This is because the food that you eat will help to replenish blood glucose levels.

“When you consider it’s been eight or nine hours since you’ve had a meal, it’s obvious that refueling at breakfast will make you feel and perform better during the day,” said the nutritionist at the U.S. Department of Agriculture Human Nutrition Information Service Diane Odland,

Researchers at the University of Health Sciences/Chicago Medical School examined the effects that eating breakfast has on someone’s mood during the late morning and their cognitive performance. During the study forty adults that weighed in as normal and who usually ate breakfast. The subjects were asked to fast overnight and than come to the lab early the next morning in order to perform baseline tests that would measure its inference, reasoning, and problem-solving.

One-third of the test subjects continued to fast – while the others ate one out of two breakfast meals in which each had 450-500 calories. These calories are important for people who want to stay healthy and meet their calorie goal for the day.

With all those skinny supermodels made to look so good in fashion magazines, who wouldn’t want to lose several pounds more? The show business industry also proves that those with amazing figures get to have a better chance at fame. Even our small neighborhood doesn’t help so much either; overweight students may not get the best deals.

Most people are even going to extremes to achieve a great figure. They pay a high price for surgery. They take in some diet pills. Some even starve themselves to death just to loose several more pounds quickly.

However, achieving quick weight loss is rarely achievable without some major side effects. You might experience severe headaches or even a much more serious implication if you failed to give your body the enough nutrition it needs.

In this world, image is a very important thing, but you shouldn’t sacrifice so much for it. There are easy and healthy weight loss programs that are available out there. Just a few more weight loss supplements should get you in perfect shape the soonest possible time.

Weight loss supplements could be synthetic or natural foods which you can take to ensure that you’re still getting enough nutrients despite the fact that you’re not eating much. Some supplements could also decrease your appetite by making you full longer. There are even some which can help you build strong muscles.

Are you familiar with GNC products? They used to be the most popular company that has an extensive selection of weight loss supplements. If anybody is into weight loss, he goes to a GNC store and would surely find the products he needs. GNC offers weight loss supplements to muscle builders. Whether you just need to shed off a few pounds or knock off a great deal of fat, you’ll be able to find the perfect supplement to your diet.

Now, with more and more people wanting to get into TV or just needing to grab a little attention, the business for weight loss supplements grew to be a multi-billion dollar industry. In fact, you can find weight loss products from the internet, to a multi level marketing scheme, and of course, to your nearest drugstore.

Just try to go to your nearest supermarket, for example. You’ll find a variety of delicious foods which could supplement your weight loss program. If you’re craving for a bar of Hershey’s, you might want to try some healthy food bars instead. There are pre packed health meals for your convenience.
Just a little bit of new information today for all those internet marketers looking for the best new up and coming release for 2010. Be on the lookout of Niche Blueprint 2 coming on January 11, it is going to be huge and change the ecommerce marketplace.

With the accessibility of the internet, you could easily look for more information on other weight loss supplements. Searching world wide web is definitely a good way to start your weight loss programs. It could give you enough information for the right weight loss supplement to fit your needs.

Before you start taking in just any supplement, you have a few things to take into consideration. Get clearer and realistic goals. Ask yourself what you want to get accomplished. How many pounds do you want to shed off? Or maybe you just need to firm up some of your muscles? It would be best if you could ask the help of professionals in helping you decide what weight loss supplement is right for you.

You could also try out natural weight loss supplements or anorexiants. Since they come from a natural source, they could give you good results without any major side effects when used properly.

Since there seems to be so much weight supplements available, you might find it hard to know which ones are right for you. Advertisements of very thin girls and muscle packed guys should not easily sway you. Just be cautious enough in choosing the weight loss supplements you’re going to use, or you might end up as a victim to a tremendous side effect.

You might usually encounter miraculous pills that promise great results in just a few days. If a product sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. Be careful not to fall for a fancy sales pitch. Most weight loss supplements just extract liquid for your body to make you look thinner.

This is not what we want. What we need is to eliminate real fat from our bodies in a healthy way. When you lose weight, make sure that you’ll still be healthy enough to enjoy your new figure.

Every spring, people revive their New Year’s resolutions long enough to get themselves in shape for summer sports and swimwear. As national organizations recognize Stress Awareness Month, we are also encouraged to focus on our bodies for reasons other than the competitive or aesthetic. But, with so much noise about improving yourself physically, it’s often difficult to remember that your main goal should be having good health.

Dr Barbara North, medical director for Instead, Inc., a company devoted to developing better alternatives for women’s health, says women have distinct needs when it comes to attaining and maintaining good health. Dr. North says feminine health is often neglected, but that it is key to overall good health. She offers the following tips to help ensure it is not overlooked.

Washing and washes: Everyday cleansing is crucial to feminine hygiene, but certain feminine washes can actually be harmful to your health. Studies have shown douching can increase the risk of pelvic inflammatory disease and cervical cancer. In fact, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends women avoid it because it can hide symptoms of an infection or push the infection farther up into their reproductive tract.

Preventing infections: Women can contract urinary tract infections (UTIs) from seemingly harmless sources. Typical culprits can be bubble baths, infrequent urination, tight clothing or improper wiping. The best protective measures are drinking plenty of water and cranberry juice, and keeping clean with mild soap and proper wiping.

It’s also important to use the restroom as soon as you need too – waiting too long can be both harmful and painful to your body www.softcup.com.

Managing cycles: For some women, tampons and pads can cause more problems than they solve. From irritation caused by fibers or chemicals, to risks of Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS), the traditional choices are not always the best solutions. One option is the Instead Softcup feminine hygiene product, which eliminates the threat of TSS by collecting, rather than absorbing, flow, while also promoting comfort. It’s available at www.softcup.com.

Achieving balance: Taking antibiotics can alter the balance of a woman’s system, often resulting in a yeast infection. When killing the body’s “bad” bacteria, antibiotics suppress the naturally occurring “good” bacteria that control yeast fungus. Women who take oral antibiotics or steroids should consult their doctors to determine the best course of action for continuing treatment.

Women need to know how to achieve and maintain good health on a daily basis – both through nutrition and with feminine hygiene. Dr. North says that a thorough understanding of feminine hygiene may be the key to helping more women achieve good health this spring.

Congratulations!

If you want to get a ripped, then searching for “get ripped diet” is the best thing you could have done.

You see to get ripped, you basically have to lower your body fat levels, and 80% of losing fat is determined by your diet.

But dieting sucks!

Most get ripped diets originate from bodybuilders where the diet of the day is, egg whites, tuna, chicken breasts, tuna, protein shake, tuna!

Did I mention that you have to eat tuna!

Yuck!

I have tried these diets many times but my love for food drove my cravings crazy and I wouldn’t last more than 3 days before I would dive headfirst into a bucket load of cereal!

I simply didn’t have the military like discipline and obsession to stick to it. I hated giving up the foods I loved I hated the foods I had to eat, and I hated completely flipping my lifestyle around just for the sake of a diet.

But I still wanted to get ripped!

So I did a ton of research and tried to create my own get ripped diet, that even I, a junk food addict could stick to!

But there were 3 main problems or common beliefs I had to overcome.

  1. I hated eating so much lean, dry protein, and spending money on supplements. Every diet I found recommended copious amounts of protein otherwise you will lose muscle mass, your metabolism will shut down and you will stop burning fat.
  2. I Love Sugar! Nearly every get ripped diet I found was very low on carbs. And the carbs they did let you eat were bland and boring (brown rice, oatmeal and sweet potato) Also you had to taper them off during the day, eating very little at night…There goes the big pasta dish and ice cream for dessert!
  3. I hated eating low fat foods! I was dry reaching every time I was chewing tuna and egg whites.

Well once I stopped assuming what everyone was doing was right and looked for the answers myself I found 3 cool things.

#1: You don’t need protein to get ripped because long before supplements were big business (and steroids hit the market) bodybuilders built their physiques naturally and with very little protein.

Steve Reeves, arguably the greatest physique of all time followed a diet of only 20% protein. This is a far cry from today where bodybuilders consume 50-60% of their calories in protein.

Also Bill Pearl, another bodybuilding legend stated in an interview on bodybuilding.com that the body can only build so much muscle at a time, and if you consume more than half a gram of protein per pound of bodyweight then the excess will be stored as fat, or burnt off as energy.

This is way less than what is now considered the general recommendation of 1-2 gram of protein a day!

# 2: You can eat sugar and get ripped because I found that if you are dieting to lose fat, and are in a calorie deficit, then you can eat sugar and all those “bad carbs” and still get ripped. This is because Insulin cannot be raised to a level that prevents fat loss if you are in a calorie deficit. It’s that simple!

#3: You can eat fat and get ripped because eating low fat to lose fat originated because fat is much more calorie dense than protein or carbohydrates. (Fat has 9 calories per gram, where as carbs and protein each have 4.)

So it was logical that if we cut out fat from our diet, it would be much easier to create a calorie deficit. So eating fat doesn’t make you fat, it is just an easier way to create a calorie deficit. In fact eating fat is a great way to boost testosterone levels, helping sped up muscle gain and fat loss.

So look I know this goes against the general recommendation, and I understand if your sceptical but it works. I put this to the test and lost 35 pounds of fat and got ripped for the first time in my life, eating absolutely whatever I wanted. hi guys. I have been working out since 6months and been using supplements of several companies till now. Recently i came across british nutritions which offer products at a good low price compared to other products . Now i decided to go on with whey and creatine of british nutritions so any suggestions and reviews regarding british nutritions will be very helpful

The problem with nutrition is that it is bloated and saturated with pseudoscience. I can’t elaborate on it here but there is a brilliant book called ‘Bad Science’ by Ben Goldacre that should shed some more light on this for you. All these supplements you take may very well do nothing. For example most people think Omega 3 is good for you, but all scientists know so far is that it either does nothing or can actually harm the body.Learning about the in’s and out’s of internet marketing can be difficult unless you have a great mentor and where can that mentorship be found? If you really want to succeed online you must get yourself a copy of Commission Blueprint 2.0 created by Steven Clayton and Tim Godfrey. The tools alone are worth the cost alone. Best wishes!

Posted by admin | 04/11/10 | Tagged Athletes Nutrition

i am a soccer player, and i have a hard time eating before games due to nerves and anxiety i guess, but i end up getting hungry in the middle of my game, so first, what are foods that i can eat a small portion of and they will keep me full for a long period of time, and also in general what are good foods for athletes to eat, to give them energy and let perform at there best? thanks!

Nuts for protein, bananas for carbs and energy. Eggs are good pre game meal.

Took 3 years of sports med + internship

why is water better then sports drinks?

Posted by admin | 01/11/10 | Tagged Sports Drinks

for school im doing a debate and i need to know WHY water is better for you then Sports Drinks. i cant find anyhting!
please also tell me where you got your sources cause i need to list websites.

well, energy drinks contain sugars and (sometimes, usually) caffine. these are called dieretics. they pretty much make your liver empty all of it’s glucose (energy) into your system to be used up (which is what makes you hyper and so on) when this happens, liquids are being released as well. so pretty much, energy drinks are making you dehydrated.

also all the sugar is unhealthy

I know that I want to help people be healthy, with the use of food; not medication.
I do not know where to start though, or what career choices I have.
If anyone could offer me some advice I would greatly appreciate it.
I am 17 going on 18 so I have time to go to school etc.
Thanks
