Careers after Fitness Training Schools
If you are interested in helping others to live rewarding and healthier lifestyles, you can join a fitness training school. Once you have completed the course, you can work towards improving the appearance and health of your clients. This could be achieved by helping them to adhere to strict diet and exercise routines and fitness programs.
Functions Of A Fitness Training School
There are several fitness training schools that provide students with the basic knowledge of physiology, anatomy, nutrition, homeostasis and metabolism. They also teach them how to design, manage and implement various fitness plans, conduct physical assessments and train their clients for health safety. You can develop the practical skills in the classroom, along with an externship program for professional training.
These schools prepare students to work with people belonging to different fitness levels and help them attain various goals. This could involve designing weight loss programs for middle aged overweight men and women, leading calisthenics workouts in nursing homes or gymnasiums, guiding world class athletes or preparing exercise routines for children who have special health issues. Students also learn to design anaerobic and aerobic exercises.
Requirements:
A fitness trainer needs to have an Associate of Science degree in sports, medicine, physiology, physical education, exercise science or any health care related field. Most positions require a Master of Science or Bachelor of Science degree.

4.If you are not sure where you want to work, take some time to conduct research online.
5.If you want to join a club, call the local clubs and ask about their requirement for personal trainers.

What are the steps I should take for california training benefits?
I was just waiting on them to send me the info I requested when I realized that maybe I need to do something. I emailed edd and they said I need to enroll in one of the approved courses/schools. The problem is how do I know if they will accept into the CTB program..I will be out a lot of money and will need three jobs on top of the one that I can’t find! I have three weeks of unemployment left..Do I need to enroll now? And if so…how do I know they won’t stop my benefits because I enrolled in school! And what type of course can I finish in a year that will improve my chances of getting a job. I worked as a barista for 6 years making coffee..I was laid off from a job I took after I quit making coffee..The job was at a fitness/gym. I heard that if edd doesn’t like your choice of training…say they think your switching careers..they will deny you. Technically anything I do will be switching careers! Just need some info on making the right choices! I have called edd/emailed read all the papers and manuals and I have done extensive internet research. I don’t want to ruin my chance for ctb.
I am kinda in the same situation, I m starting nursing school at the end of the month and have only couple days unemployment left, I also went through all their material about CTB available but its really vague and they just put their jammed 1800 number to apply for it which is impossible to get through, the EDD de3550 form doesnt help much, meanwhile what I suggest you is to apply online for the extension as the federal gov has added more weeks then I dont know what to do next, I dont want to lie on my claim form where it says did you start any training or class(which usually you say NO but if you say yes they block your benefits right away !!) but at the same time I dont want to say the truth and then they block my benefits and I have to do God knows what and wait I dont know how long in this crisis to finally get a hold of some one and see if I can apply for CTB, it is a ridiculous situation, with all the bills that you have to pay and this crisis on the job market, you tell the truth to EDD you are screwed and you dont tell the truth you might be screwed later on as well !!

I feel your pain. I had been trying to reach EDD by phone every day for over two weeks to get more info on the CTB program – pretty impossible to go about your day in a normal fashion when you’re constantly forced to hit the redial button! But I just got through today thanks to a tip I saw on Expertlaw.com when I Googled "cannot reach California EDD". It suggested when you dial the 1-800-300-5616 number to select 1 then 3 then 0. 3 is supposed to be for employers but when you finally get through, it’s the same CSR department for everyone so they don’t know how you got to them. I think the employer option may be a "preferred" line and that’s why it is perhaps easier to get through on. When you talk to the CSR, they will document your record and then you can ask him/her your questions – the guy I got was very nice and understanding. They also said the local job service centers would be able to help with confirming which courses and schools are approved. The bad news is unfortunately you have to try to reach them again by about a week before you start classes with all your information – so that will be another phone battle. Good Luck to you!!!
